2009 -2010 State Deputy
Michael J. Porter, Sr.
Council
6099 has given us the opportunity to see how they put together a new
member package. This information can help your councils create
your own packages.
Following are the contents of Holy Family Council 6099 welcome packet for new members. A welcome package gives the new member more information about the Knights, the Council, our activities and other items that help identify him as a Knight of Columbus. Most items are available from Supreme Council at no charge. Other items can be purchased for very little cost.
• Framed 1st Degree certificate • Copy of Columbia magazine
• Printed council newsletter
• Printed information brochure on Council 6099
• Fact sheet about what Council 6099 does locally
• Invitation for social night for recruiting
• Two (2) self-addressed envelopes
• Laminated name tag
• Knights of Columbus council T-shirt
• Booklet: These Men They Call Knights (available from Supreme)
• Button: “In Solidarity with our Bishops and Priests: (available
from Supreme)

• Family-based flyer (Supreme form 4552)

It is always a good idea to include a large manila folder (9x12 or 10x13) to hold all of the items included in the packet except for the T-shirt and 1st Degree certificate. You can put all the contents into a paper or clear plastic bag. Plastic looks better and is better to display.
