Council 8152 18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament a huge success!

CROSSVILLE — Knights of Columbus Council 8152 held their 18th annual Charity Golf Tournament Wednesday, June 16th, at The Bear Trace Golf Course. The beautiful summer-like day was enjoyed by 36 teams who came out to support the many charities the Knights of Columbus support in Cumberland County. The golfers gathered at The Bear Trace Golf Course for a 1:00 pm shotgun start, followed by the distribution of door prizes, individual and team awards, plus a delicious dinner from Big Boy’s Barbecue at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

The Annual Charity Event sponsored by the Crossville Knights of Columbus supports these Cumberland County Charities:  Avalon, Hospice, House of Hope, Hilltoppers, County School Supply Depot, Plateau Pregnancy Services, Cumberland County of Tennessee Right to Life, S.A.C.S., Peavine Care Center, Kids Inc., ARC of Cumberland County, and NAMI.

Dignitaries playing in the event included Bobby Greenwood, PGA member and a member of the Tennessee PGA Hall of Fame, Pauline Sherrer, Publisher – Crossville Chronicle, Mike Porter, Tennessee Knights of Columbus State Deputy, Jim Bruen Tennessee Knights of Columbus State Warden, and Monsignor Philip Thoni, Retired Military Chaplain and Former Pastor of St Francis of Assisi Parish in Fairfield Glade.

The Crossville Knights of Columbus and Tournament Co-Chairmen Rollie Wicker and Mike Wilkiel want to thank each participant in this event for their support.  We are grateful to all the volunteers.  Our tournament would not be a success without the help of all the players, volunteers and businesses.  Our motto for this event, "You Do Make a Difference" meant so much this year.

Please keep next June 15th, 2011, open for the Knights of Columbus 19th Annual Charity Golf Tournament.
